Making Progress

It’s been a crazy year from the company birth in August 2007 until now. We’ve moved a couple of times in search of the perfect place to raise the design child named Hatch & Bloom. Now child is becoming teenager – and we need more space for the sometimes loud and demanding youngster. Luckily, the construction of our new office is making progress. That, however, does not keep Michael and Esben from constantly overseeing every detail. Like you know what it should look like anyway, guys. Skilled designers, yes. Experienced craftsmen, no.

Last instructions

As the big and beautiful project “Food innovation for the Municipality of Holstebro” comes to an end for Hatch & Bloom it is also time to brush up the last details and ship everything off to the client. A project this size includes a lot of images, designs, documents, prints and versions. Here’s head of graphic design and (some might say) painstaking perfectionist Mette giving her last instructions: “Align this, clean up that, merge those layers, invert this selection, fill with some gradient madness and we’ll talk again in 15 minutes. Chop, chop.”

This year's hottest design venue

Once again Michael's wise and inspiring words are wanted. This time Michael is invited to be a speaker at the conference From Business to Buttons. With more than 400 participants from well over 10 countries the conference will be one of this year's hottest design venues. No wonder Michael looks forward to discussing how you can create world class user experiences with companies such as Google, eBay, Microsoft, Volvo, Sony Ericsson, Vodafone and IKEA. The conference will take place in Malmö, June 12 - 13, and together with Lene Nielsen, Ph.D and User Consultant from Snitker & Co, Michael will give an introduction to personas driven ideation. Sharing space. Sharing ideas

Wondering where to find us? Here we are, sharing space with the Cebras on Vesterbro Torv 1-3. It is hard not to be inspired when you share office with a leading architecture company like Cebra. Cebra works on all kinds of innovative projects from family houses to city planning. Every project is planned according to its own unique ideology based on the day-to-day changing circumstances that influence the architectural work. How can you not be exited about this roommate? We already love them!

Hatch & Bloom as building construction experts

New building construction, restoration and process planning. Council flats on Østerbro and single-family houses in Herning. You just name it…we are out there! During the next couple of months we will be engaged in anthropological design research on different projects within building construction and innovation. This is an exiting opportunity for doing what we love: to be inspired by all kinds of experts and people from all over the country. Maybe this is the time to mention that Karina is the daughter of an experienced bricklayer and entrepreneur – so maybe this project will bring out some so far unknown craftswoman skills.
