Even as an experienced design researcher users can go and sweep you off your feet when you least expect it. When doing our observations with elderly people in Holstebro for the "Glad for Mad" (Happy Foods) project Helle and Lotte ran in to nothing less than their new grand dad. How can you not fall helplessly in love with an 80-year-old who hits the road on his bike every morning because he just has to get out to get fresh air and exercise. A man who bakes and serves you Kiss-cakes and Love-cookies and who loves to share a beer (but one beer only! Anything more would be Scottish) with his best friend Anders at lunchtime? And since he agreed to become a member of our user-network we hope to see him again very soon …
Ps. Jens asked for the picture to prove to Anders that two ‘lovely ladies’ had made him a house call (totally unexpected we bet he’ll claim).

New power – more juice!
If you’re one of those who visit our blog every now and then you know we’ve been puzzling you with promises of a new employee. As it turns out we now present not one but two newcomers to join the Hatch & Bloom crew. Our new employee at Design Research is anthropologist Karina Svanborg – she’s just handed in her master thesis and is now on a much-deserved holiday until she joins us in April. The other employee is Mads Elmelund Hansen, who’ll join Graphic Design already next week. Different backgrounds, but both extremely competent and confident within their fields of expertises. We're so excited to see how they will spice up our business and support us in serving our steady growing client portfolio.

Seconds before launch
Here’s Esben just seconds before the launch of industrial design company Thygesen & Nørregaard's new website. It’s funny how even a web veteran like Esben still gets anxious before these launches. Then again, websites are his little children: Suddenly, they grow up and are ready to wonder off into the world wide web. Goodbye, dear website. Promise to think of Esben – he who gave you life …

In the press
We’ve been featured in financial newspaper Erhvervsbladet two times recently. January 14 in a follow-up story about how we launched Hatch & Bloom on Youtube (and how we use Facebook and other web 2.0 gadgets - including this very blog!!!). And today, February 4, in a story about user-driven design. We’ve also been highlighted in financial newspaper Børsen about our project for the Municipality of Holstebro – a project aimed at improving food service for the elderly.
